This project was an Internal banking application for the employees of a ABN AMRO bank. The front-end for the application used xslt to convert generated XML to JSP pages which were then rendered as Html page on the browser.
My role in the team was to customize the Java services and front-end JSP pages according to the customer’s functional and UX requirements. The challenge here was to modify the code without breaking other existing functionalities as the most important thing for any bank is stability.
Tech stack for this project
#Mainframe : The backend was a legacy system running on IBM zOS and DB2 as database.
#Java : Java connectors were deployed to connect to mainframe end and write and fetch data. Depending on the type of service it can either be a batch job or online transaction.
#Vanilla Js : Since it was an old application, there was no such framework used for UI design. For all the interactions we had to use vanilla JS.
#Struts : We used struts at that time to implement our java based services and applications. Struts being a simple framework at that time was enough for the requirement.
